Batista on why he doesn’t miss WWE

Former WWE star Batista (Dave Bautista) was recently on Chris Jericho’s podcast and revealed he was open to a return to WWE to work a program with Triple H.

“I’ve asked, yeah, I’ve asked. Well, there’s… I’ve asked for what I want. I’ll tell you and I’ve talked to Hunter about it and I’ve talked to Vince about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That’s the only thing I’m interested in doing. They’re just not interested in it, you know?”

Batista also added that he doesn’t miss WWE.

“Yeah, I miss it a lot. … There’s nothing like it, you know that. There’s just an adrenaline rush that goes along with it. What I don’t miss is the company, to be honest with you. I don’t miss WWE. I miss wrestling, I just don’t miss dealing with the company and its bullshit. Yeah it’s the bullshit man, it’s just too much bullshit man.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” starring Batista opens this weekend nationwide.

Justin Roberts talks book/JBL

Donald Wood of Ring Rust Radio recently spoke with former WWE announcer Justin Roberts about the release of his new book and some in the wrestling media using it as reference point to highlight the backstage issues involving Mauro Ranallo and JBL.

“A lot of people asked me about it and I said I don’t know Mauro. I don’t know him at all and we never once talked. I don’t know his situation. All I know is the experiences that I’ve had which I clearly stated were in 2003 when that was happening with JBL. Case in point, after the incident with Joey Styles when he stood up to him and punched him, he basically disappeared shortly after that. When he came back, he was a much different person. That stuff wasn’t going on and the locker room had changed completely. So, when he came back it was a different world with different guys and a different mentality. The guys who were around in the early 2000s knew what happened and later on I don’t know what happened with Mauro. So I can’t say anything about that, but I did say when people asked me if he should be fired and I would say no. It’s not just something with JBL; it’s a mentality in the company. They like to ride people and I don’t know if that had anything to do with Mauro because again, I don’t know anything about his situation for sure, just the accusations that we have heard that are going around.”

  1. I think it would be a decent programme but no real winners at the end of the day. As both would disappear from TV.
Be better if when he was there last he’d stayed and put over Bryan again he took the clean loss at mania and it could have been more.
Unfortunately it’s be a waste time.
That being said Batista shouldn’t take any heat he’s basically saying he wouldn’t mind coming back to go one more time with his friend he doesn’t need the wwe but still wouldn’t mind doing it you got to respect that.
He doesn’t need the wwe he’s become a success in movies well liked aswell.
Who would have thought that Batista would be the next man after the rock to actually be a success in Hollywood!

  2. He only wants to work Hunter because he know Hunter will work to make him look good and the current stars maybe won’t carry him, and/or he feels he isn’t on the same level as the current crop of stars. He’s so far in his own head he doesn’t understand the business; it’s about the fans and what they want, not what a former star wants. We don’t need him and neither does the WWE.

  3. It’s cool, Batista. Like The Rock, you found a much better paying job with better hours plus you’re being seen by much more people. The only one Worst Wrestling Ever gives celebrity treatment to is Roid Assner so f*ck them. Stay where you are & be happy with it and leave WWE behind with all its bullshit.

  4. WWE doesn’t need him and he certainly doesn’t need them so from that perspective, as is works best for both! That said, he was very poorly misused during his last run because WWE couldn’t properly deal with the Daniel Bryan backlash and the proof is they haven’t yet been able to recover what the same timeline did the Reigns. Batista is forever stained by their decision (just like Reigns) to ignore the huge reactions to Daniel and instead force Dave and Roman down everyone’s throats. That said, the programs he worked at the time with the current talent we’re fine it’s just that the fans weren’t having it for the reason mentioned but he embraced the hate once it was apparent he needed to be a heel, and put over everyone he was asked to do this isn’t on him. I think he would still be stained from that time and so a return wouldn’t work but that had nothing to do with him or not being able to work a program – years later and Roman and WWE can’t figure out how to shake this off Roman. But back to the original point, Dave sure doesn’t need them right now (career-wise or financially) and they don’t need or want him involved because they blame him for what happened despite us all knowing where the blame lies in this particular case at least!
