Ryback issues statement

WWE star Ryback issued a new statement on Tuesday about his current status with the company after he was pulled from last night’s 5/2 WWE RAW taping in St. Louis.

In the statement, Ryback confirmed reports last night that he requested to be pulled from WWE television and was told to go home in order for him and Vince McMahon to agree on a new deal. Reports stated his current deal expires this summer.

“Contrary to reports it isn’t over money or a bus that stuff was settled a while ago. It comes down to a major problem I have with not only WWE but wrestling in general.”

Ryback went on to discuss in his statement about his current issues with WWE and how the winners are paid more then the losers despite the scripted environment.

“It blows my mind how in a sport which is pre determined from a company standpoint winners are paid so much more than the losers. It blows my mind that in this day and age though we still adhere to this formula.”

Ryan Reeves (Ryback): Feed Me More

  1. Giving up his dignity for a few bucks and wishing he was still getting paid as much as the “losers” in WWE when they immediately crown him TNA champ?

  2. he has a very accurate and valid point who’s to say that somebody else isn’t gonna state the obvious WWE is so screwed up now it’s ridiculous luckily NXT stars is saving the ratings cuz before Mania it was nearly repetitive shit every week that caused them to steadily decrease and despite how some may feel about them being rushed too soon to the MR they didn’t have much choice of course due to the sudden number of injuries that have befalled half the MR (may we now add Tamina to the list) but back to the very acinine way that winners are paid more than the losers or technically jobbers WWE thinks their talent is indispensable but these wrestlers can walk out if they wanted to if they weren’t happy and they would soon regret their mistake some things need to change the benefit the needs of ur talent and Vince too idiotic and stubborn to never see that and yes before people make jokes and say it’s better than working at a minimum wage job *clears throat* McDonald’s or Burger King and getting paid crappy money let it be known that JTG once argued about the same thing

  3. given the fact that usually a good loser makes the winner look great, he has a valid point.

  4. Let it be known that even “jobbers” are on 120-250k a year….. Oh the humanity how do they feed their children….shut up

  5. You’ve pulled that figure out of thin air. The base contract for a WWE on-screen talent is around 90k. They earn more depending on merchandise etc, but they also pair for all their own travel and accommodation so the real figure after tax depends on how much chance they’re given to flourish. Obviously Cena should earn more than, say, Luke Harper as he’s worth more to the company. Ryback’s point is totally valid in a scripted sport, especially one where losing is often more physically punishing than winning.

  6. Eh? Goldberg won 100+ matches in a row. Ryback’s argument is that those who lose on TV should still be paid well. If anything it’s the opposite of egotism for someone who wins regularly and has a place near the top of the card.

  7. yeah but in my opinion they could have pushed him instead of setting him up to fail even more after Cena and Punk and i don’t even wanna mention the crap tag team angle with Axel and his Cryback phase (shitty very shitty indeed)

  8. no need to be a dick about it but everyone has an opinion to voice and Ryback voiced his doesn’t make him an egotistical oaf like many people believe he is and instead of berating me about what i said anybody who had a family would be upset about being paid less…generally speaking

  9. Yeah along with being on the chopping block each year it’s time for wwe to do their spring cleaning.
