Backstage, NXT General Manager Dusty Rhodes is talking with Bo Dallas when Corey Graves walks in. Dusty asks Graves if he has what Dusty asked him to bring and Graves does, with it being the NXT Title belt he stole last week from Big E. Langston. Graves says he doesn’t want to give to Dusty, but he will. Graves says the title should be his and Dusty brings up that you have to earn things, noting Dallas’s recent accomplishments. Dusty then makes Graves vs. Conor O’Brian vs. Dallas in a Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match tonight. Graves says that’s fine and he will show Dallas & O’Brian what he means when he says “stay down”.

We then see the usual intro as Tony Dawson & William Regal welcome us to the show and we go right to our opening match.

Grudge Match: “The Cape Town Werewolf” Justin Gabriel w/Tyson Kidd vs. “The Big Game Hunter” Leo Kruger

Regal mentions Gabriel & Kruger’s long-standing rivalry back in South Africa. Gabriel with a chop after Kruger went after him off a clean break. Kruger misses a right hand and Gabriel with a right hand, followed by a side headlock takeover. Gabriel uses his legs to scissor Kruger’s arm, then maintains hold of the side headlock when Kruger tries to Irish whip out of it. Gabriel with a shoulder tackle off a whip and goes right back to the side headlock. Kruger tries to get out again, but Gabriel rolls through and keeps hold of the side headlock. Kruger breaks free with a knee to the gut, then does his own side headlock takeover, but Gabriel counters with a head scissors. Gabriel then with another side headlock takeover. Kruger counters with a pinning predicament for a nearfall. Kruger with a forearm, followed by his own side headlock takeover. Gabriel takes Kruger down to a knee, then goes to an armbar. Kruger stomps on the foot of Gabriel, then hits a series of clubs to the back. Kruger with a corner whip, but Gabriel leaps over Kruger and catches him with a headscissors takeover. Gabriel kicks Kruger out of the ring as we go to commercial.


Back from commercial as Kruger with a forearm, then goes to a side headlock. Kruger with a shoulder tackle off a whip, Gabriel with a leapfrog, but Kruger catches Gabriel in mid-air and hits a spinebuster for a nearfall. Kruger sends Gabriel shoulder-first into the ringpost, then does an arm whip for another nearfall. Kruger locks in a keylock as the crowd wills on Gabriel. Gabriel counters out with a jawbreaker, followed by a couple of sweeping leg kicks from the ground. Gabriel with a kick to the chest, followed by a spinning roundhouse kick for a nearfall. Kruger comes back with a forearm, followed by a Divorce Court for another nearfall. Kruger wraps up Gabriel’s arm in his legs and drops down with all his body weight. Kruger then goes shoulder to shoulder, followed by a knee drop to the arm for yet another nearfall. Kruger locks in a Fujiwara armbar while also pulling at Gabriel’s fingers. Kruger with a short-arm clothesline for yet another nearfall. Kruger with another armbar as the crowd again wills on Gabriel. Gabriel tries to break free, but Kruger pulls him down by the hair. Kruger hammerlocks the arm and drops a knee on it before pulling back on the wrist. Kruger with another knee, then locks in a hammerlock as the crowd again tries to will Gabriel on. Gabriel counters out with a snapmare, followed by a drop toe hold.

Gabriel with a series of kicks to the leg, followed by a spin kick. Kruger counters a whip, but Gabriel tiger flips over his back and hits a spin kick, followed by a discus forearm. Gabriel with a corner charge, connecting with an angled avalanche in the corner, propelling himself onto the apron. Gabriel with a springboard crossbody for a nearfall. Gabriel heads up top, but Kruger shoves him off the ropes and then drops Gabriel’s arm across the top rope. Kruger charges and takes Gabriel’s head off with a lariat, but Gabriel is somehow able to kick-out. Kruger can’t believe it, having words with the ref. Kruger places Gabriel on the turnbuckles and heads up with him. Kruger goes for a superplex, but Gabriel fights it. Gabriel then hits a Sunset flip powerbomb.

Gabriel heads back up top and hits the 450 Splash for the victory.

Winner: “The Cape Town Werewolf” Justin Gabriel by pinfall (450 Splash)

Gabriel celebrates his victory, but then Kruger nails him in the throat with one of Kidd’s crutches. Kruger leaves as Kidd goes to check on Gabriel.


Back from commercial, its time for our next match as the Divas are in action.

Aksana vs. Emma

Emma has some trouble getting into the ring while doing her wacky dance before the match starts. “You can’t dance” chants directed at Emma. Aksana with a gut kick, followed by a hard corner whip that sends Emma bouncing off the turnbuckles. Aksana does her senseous crawl towards Emma, then talks trash. Emma goes for a right hand, but Aksana blocks it and sends Emma down to the mat. Aksana taunts the crowd as Emma goes out onto the apron in frustration, but while doing so, falls off the apron. Aksana grabs Emma by the hair, but Emma comes back by hot-shotting Aksana off the top rope for a 1 count. Emma with a hair-mare, followed by a gut kick and another hair-mare. Emma mocks Aksana’s crawl, but Aksana drop toe holds her into the bottom turnbuckle. Aksana with a pair of slams, followed by an elbow drop for a nearfall. Emma comes back with a right hand and sends Aksana into the corner. Emma with a snapmare, then grabs Aksana by the hair and drives her down to the mat for a nearfall. Emma locks in a cravate as the commentators mentioned that Emma was trained by Lance Storm. Aksana tries to break free, but Emma drives her back down to the mat for another nearfall. Emma does her wacky dance before going for a suplex, but Aksana shoves her into the corner. Aksana charges, but Emma gets her boot up.

Emma charges, but Aksana catches her with the Diva Drop (Spinebuster) for the victory.

Winner: Aksana by pinfall (The Diva Drop)

Aksana with a stomp for good measure after the match.

Backstage, we see Renee Young with doctors who are tending to an unconscious Bo Dallas and its unclear if he can compete, because the main event is…………..NEXT!


Back from commercial, its time for our main event that is now a one-on-one match due to the injury to Bo Dallas.

NXT Title #1 Contenders Match: Corey Graves vs. “The Ascension” Conor O’Brian

Graves goes for the leg, but O’Brian easily throws him aside. Graves with a go-behind, but again O’Brian easily throws him aside. Graves off the ropes, but O’Brian goes off the blind side and mows Graves down with a shoulder tackle, followed by a 2nd and then a 3rd. O’Brian with a series of side headlock takeovers into a grounded side headlock. Graves breaks free, but O’Brian takes him down and locks in a nerve hold as we go to commercial.


Back from commercial as Graves breaks free of O’Brian’s nerve hold and whips him into the corner. Graves charges, but O’Brian back drops him over the ropes and to the outside. O’Brian goes out after him and sends Graves face-first off the apron. Again Graves goes off the apron , then O’Brian places him on the apron and hits an elbow to the face. Back in the ring, Graves tries to fight back, but O’Brian stomps away at him. Graves rolls out to the outside and O’Brian gives chase. However, that allows Graves to dropkick the knee of O’Brian as he was going back in the ring. Graves drives O’Brian’s leg repeatedly into the apron, then drives it multiple times into the ringpost. Graves with an elbow to the leg, then locks O’Brian in a leglock, with O’Brian’s leg wrapped between Graves’ legs. Graves with a series of elbows to the leg before locking back in the leglock. O’Brian tries to power out and he does so by locking Graves in a body scissors and driving him down to the mat. However, Graves comes back with a stomp to the leg. Graves drives his body weight across O’Brian’s leg, followed by driving the knee into the mat. Graves locks in a toe hold with Graves’ foot trapped over the leg of O’Brian. Graves with a series of kicks to the back of the leg before re-applying the leglock from earlier. O’Brian breaks free with clubs to the chest, but Graves with a drop toe hold and locks in another leglock with O’Brian on his belly as we go to commercial.


Back from commercial as Graves & O’Brian are on the outside as Graves with right hands. Graves gets O’Brian back in the ring, but only gains a 1 count. Graves with a chop block to the back of the leg, then drives the knee back into the mat. Graves yet again goes back to the wrapped up leglock while digging his elbow into O’Brian’s knee. O’Brian pulls a Graves’ face to break free, then fights back with right hands. O’Brian with a corner whip, followed by an avalanche and finally a biel across the ring. Graves charges, but O’Brian connects with a one-man flapjack. O’Brian fires up, but the lights go out.

When the lights come back on, the Shield is in the ring attacking both men and the ref calls for the bell.

No Contest (Interference by the Shield)

The Shield stomp away on O’Brian & Graves, then hit the Triple Powerbomb on Graves. The crowd chants “One more time” as they lift up O’Brian and proceed to hit him with the Triple Powerbomb. The crowd chants for the Shield as they toss O’Brian to the outside along with Graves.

Dean Ambrose has a mic and says that this is a friendly reminder to keep your guard up to whomever you are, wherever you are, you can’t escape from justice. What we did is what it looks like and feels like when you are brought to justice by the Shield.

Seth Rollins says this is just the beginning. The Shield exists to right the wrongs of an industry gone array. Things are gonna get better, I promise, things are gonna get better. But, before they do, they have to get a lot worse. Ask Sheamus, ask John Cena, ask Ryback how bad things can get.

Roman Reigns says that they are everywhere, they are always watching, no one is outside the reach of the Shield. BELIEVE IN THE SHIELD!

The Shield leaves, walking over the fallen Graves & O’Brian as we go to credits.
